Should i do an proper CS degree

Currently i am doing master’s degree in Industrial Engineering. But i am more interested in Information technology area. Before this recession and sep 11th, students from Industrial Engineering major was able to join Information technology jobs. Butnow companies doesn’t take any of Industrial Engineering major students for IT jobs. But i have all skills, knowledge, concepts and experince to work in IT field. Should i have to do an computer science degree or wait for economic to improve and seehow companies react. If i wait i might lose more time. What would you advise to do?
