Should i Move

I am with one of the big three Software companies 6 months now, i am working in IT Support on the phones and have been offered a promotion, but would have to move, is this worth it, obviously better money etc, but would you view this as a move up or a move laterally, from 35man support team to a 5 man IT Dept Team, all in 6 months.
