Should the BCS ditch its computers?

The head of the Bowl Championship Series has said an NCAA basketball tournament-style committee might become part of the selection process next season to reduce the possibility of a split national championship in football. The BCS was recently criticized when USC was bypassed for the Sugar Bowl despite its No. 1 ranking by media and coaches. What should the BCS do to remedy its problem?
