As I am sure most of you are aware about the Sir-Cam virus that is propagating at a rapid rate.
Although no users on my network have been infected due to a iron clad virus protection policy. Most home users are not protected or informed.
Since it is a rational theory to think that most home users go to work at some point, and most business offices have access to e-mail.
I am asking all Mail Admins/Net and Sys admins to alert your users about this virus. It’s not the most destructive virus out there. But it is annoying and uses a great social engineering method to get around. Who does’nt like to be asked for advice.
But it’s flooding mail servers and the net with useless traffic.
Maybe I am just bitching because I have been getting 2-300 of these e-mails a day since last friday. And all virus alerts are sent to my hip.
I have begun efforts here on my end to respond to every poor soul who has sent us the virus, notifying them that they are infected and should takethe appropiate measures.
