Slow printing

by mitcham . Updated 18 years, 3 months ago

This issue has been bugging me all morning and I’m just stumped. A client is trying to print an expense report from Excel 2003 to his office printer, an HP Deskjet 9800. He says that only for that particular report type, the printer takes much longer to print… up to 3 minutes to physically print out. It’s not an issue of spooling, that happens intsantly, but the actual act takes a very long time. Other Excel spreadsheets of silimar size/length print very fast compared to this document’s speed.

I’ve changed the settings so that it doesn’t print “fine” grade, but it still takes a long time. I also thought I found an upgraded driver on the HP website that specifically addresses the issue of “slow printing” from black-text only documents, but it was the same driver currently on the machine.

Are there any other aspects I am unknowingly skipping over to resolve the issue?
