Slow telnetin with W2K Pro

When I use W2K Pro to telnet to a Unix server the speed is slow. If I telnet Unix server to Unix server to the speed is normal. W2k appears to almost hang for a few seconds before the logon appears. Telneting on an NT 4.0 server is about the sameas telneting on a Unix server, normal. This problem is excussive to w2k pro. Any suggestions?
