smartmedia cards over 32 meg on usb

I have a SIIG smart meida reader for my digital cameras. I bought several smartmedia cards, now at 128 meg, and the reader does not recognize the cards? Only the 32 meg cards can be read? any ideas? I have all the current drivers for both mother board and SIIG reader? I am running WIN98SE and AOPEN AX63pro mtr. bd.The model SIIG is JU-RSM0012 and it is supposed to be able to read up to 18 meg? Thanks
