Software license server on Windows 2000.

Using WINE, Sidenet and even CrossOver Office, I have repeatedly tried to run the destop client to our accounting package. (VMS by Synergy) The server is Windows 2000. Drive mapping works fine through Wine and the app installs from the mapped drive fine. It even connects to the database on the server and the GUI runs. But it all stops with the popup message “Cannot connect to license server.” How can I get Windows licensing to shake hands with Wine? The requirements for the thin client are loose, it will run on any version of Windows.
