software setup

When I try to install any softwre using a cd windows only opens the autorun dialogue box. That only allows me to “explore the contents of the cd. Then I have to look for the .exe file or setup file on the cd. I am running windows 7 home premium 64 bit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
