Solaris 2.5.1 never picks up netmask

I have 4 Solaris 2.5.1 systems and whenever they are rebooted they never pick up the correct netmask.

I have /etc/inet/netmasks configured but everytime they boot they always come up with a default class B netmask. I can correct this by running ifconfig but it is bugging me nevertheless.

I know about /etc/rc.local and will try this method during the next scheduled downtime (so no points there fellas!)
