I am currently running Corel Linux SE on a 486 Pent. 133 mhz, 80MB ram. The kernel version is 2.2.16
My sound card is AT 931 Audio 16. When I set up Corel Linux SE, the sound card did not work.
I ran “sndconfig” (a few times now) which produced the following result:
sndconfig: Starting sound card installation…
sndconfig: PnP probe result: Sound card found! Model: AT931 Audio 16
sndconfig: Detected card info:
IRQ = 5
DMA = 0
DMA2 = 1

MPU-IRQ= 0x005
MEM = 0xffffffff
Flag = 0x0045
Module : MAD16
Desc : MAD16 Pro (OPTi 82C929/82C930)

sndconfig : Old /etc/conf.modules will be renamed to /etc/conf.modules.bak
sndconfig : Sound card installation completed
sndconfig: Writing out detected info to /etc/devices…
sndconfig : Done!
Updating /etc/modules…
Modifying /etc/isapnp.conf
I looked into the control panel under Hardware–> Audio —>Audio Adapter. The following was recorded:
Description MAD16Pro (OPTi 82C929/82C930)
Manufacturer Unknown
Device Unknown
Driver mad16
Device information
bus isa

dma 0,1
I assumed the above had set up my sound card, but when I try to use XMMS to play a mpeg music it come up with the following message:
===============================================
Couldn’t open audio
Please check that:
1. You have the correct output plugin selected
2. No other program is blocking the soundcard
3. Your soundcardis configured properly
===============================================
I need to know:
(1) If I have the correct driver.
(2) Do I need to do anything else other than run “sndconfig” to set up the sound card?
(3) If the driver is incorrect where do I go to get the correct driver?
