Special characters replaces Folder Names on MS Outlook

One of our Laptop have MSOutlook but when we try to open the program the floder name were all weird special characters mostly ???///. ie the Outbox shows ????, and theInbox shows :??//. I tried to rename by going>file menu>folder>but i can’t rename(not dark). I also attempted to fix and repair MSOffice 2003 and reboot then launch MSOutlook still the same. Does anyone have any alternatives how to change the folder names; deleted folders,inbox, outbox etc… thanks in advance
