Spreadsheet or table as desktop background

Maybe I can’t see the forest for the trees, but I have a small excel table that I would like to place on my desktop background, but still be editable. Is this possible, or is there an app out there that does this? I haven’t had any luck finding anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
