spyware pushed from Techrepublic??!!!

I have been using the Spybot-SearchandDestroy program to clean spyware. I recently set it to notify me when a spyware program tried to download. Opening the email website from techrepublic I received notice to both Avenue A and Doubleclick spyware attempting to install. What is up with that. I would expect more from this site. Expecially since I pay for it monthly.
