Stairstep Effect-local printer-Solaris

Fix stairstepping Effect in Solaris
I am running Solaris 8 on a Sun Ultra 60. I am trying to print to an HP LaserJet 2100M printer located on my parallel port (/dev/ecpp0). I am receiving the stair step effect, where the text is printed fine on the first line,
then tabbed over on the next line, and so on.
(I have the fix for a remote printer, but not for a local one)

I know in Linux there is a box you can check to fix this. What about in Solaris? Any ideas?
