Starting eBusiness Consultancy

Hi all,
I need some advise. I have been working for the past 10 years and at the end of the day, I hate my job – meaning, I hate working for an employer. I have the knowledge and the experience in eBusiness from technical to Biz Dev. But before I say that I am one, I need some big help :
1. What is the exact role of a Consultant?

2. How many of you eBusiness Consultant are being successful?

3. Any one of you from any part of Asia?
How do I start off in Asia?
