Still won’t read dvds

My Acer travelmate 2000 stopped reading dvds but it reads cds, so I replaced it with a new one, but I have the same problem it still won’t read dvds the busy light flashes for 30 seconds then stops. Its not reporting any errors any help would be gratefully received
