Strange DVD reading issue

I am installing a ton of programs on my desktop, and have come across a few oddities.
While trying to copy songs (legit music from original CDs) to my hard drive, the DVD player would occasionally play a different song, from a different CD.
Likewise, when installing some games, it’ll try to install a different game. In this case, it wants to install a Madden Football game. Actually, it’s wanted to install Madden with several different games.
Any thoughts on this? My best guess is that game is imbedded on the lens somehow? But, even if it is, it doesnt do this all the time.
Very strange to me.
