Subnetted Network

I have a network with just over 1000 nodes, this is currently split into 8 sperate class C subnets. Routing between each subnet is currently handled by NT4 server’s wiuth two network cards(!!).

My proposal is that i should change the business toa class B subnet and therefore removing the need for the NT4 routers.

However the advantage of having the routers is the networkj being segmented, with most of the network being made up of switches and not hubs, what impact do people think removing the routers will have?
