SuSE SLES 10.2 new install – can’t find raid

I am (trying to) install SuSE SLES 10.2 on a HP poweredge 2400, with raid5.

The controller is an Adaptec ALC 7890 v25701, PERC2/DC.

From a morning of googling, I am reading that they don’t include the older raid controller in the kernel. I have not yet found how to add this in.

I have worked with boottime loadable drivers before, but never took this long to find answer.

Any ideas? Thanks!
