Sync Outlook with a POP3 server

I am trying to download email off of my POP3 server using the outlook client. There are a lot of messages (at least 500) in my server’s inbox and I want to download all of them. The client is only downloading the new mail and none of the old stuff.Do you have any ideas? The sooner the better.
