Our small office now has 2 engineers carrying laptops. Both of these guys work on the same projects and both work in our office, in our customer’s office, and off-site. They want to be able to “synchronize” the files on their laptops with our Windows 2000 server AND with our customer’s Windows 2000 server.
Basically, they want to be able to come in to the office, hook up their laptops and swap files back and forth with the server while preserving the NEWEST files only.
Both engineers have a laptop, both are provided desktops in our office, and both are provided desktops at our customer’s location. Both are now “trained” to save files only to the servers so sharing between desktops is no longer a problem. The problem is those darned laptops which they think are great. Both are work-aholics and work on projects at home on their laptops. One advantage is that they NEVER work on the same file at the same time.
I know there have to be programs that will do this, I just don’thave time to hunt them down right now.
