system recovery error message is displayed each time i boot XP

by just_dont_spam_me . Updated 19 years, 1 month ago

Each time I turn on the computer the ‘System recovery’ error message is displayed along with the ‘Advanced Options Menu’ prompting me to select either ‘safe mode’ or ‘start windows normally’. I always select ‘start windows normally’ which boots without any problems and also shuts down without any problems. But the error message always appears the next time I turn on the computer or restart. Is there a file that I can manually edit to remove this error message from appearing each time during startup? I’m using an NTFS file system and have recently used the repair feature on the windows xp installation cd. I have also run chkdsk but failed to find any problems.
