systems analysis assistant

I am currently a full-time student, and I’ve just started learning about the process that goes into system design and analysis. I am very interested in learning more, and I know that my textbooks will be little to no help. I’d like to find an employer/mentor to help me begin my career in systems analysis and design. Does anyone have a suggestion?
