Taking ownership of folders

Can anyone tell me why using the new security editor with Win2000 taking ownsership of a folder with multiple subfolders, the ownership only seems to go about 3 levels deep. After that I am forced to go to every single subfolder in the tree and explicitly take ownership!!!
