Tape Backup

I want to install a 2 gig internal ditto tape backup. I need more specific, step by step, instructions then ftape’s webpage gives. There is so much info on the webpage that I have no idea where to start! I have Red Hat 6.0 kernel 2.2.5-15. Thanks!
