tar on solaris 2.7

I have solaris 2.7, I am trying to untar mysql-3.22.32

when I use tar that comes with solaris 2.7 I get the messege (directory checksum error)

I tried to untar the public version of tar but not luck, I still get the same message (directory checksum error).

(this is what/how I do it tar -vxf mysql-3)
