Telework support best practices

It looks like my employer is going to be testing a telework program with company provided PC, internet access, phone line, etc. I was wondering if anyone has experience supporting users and systems in this sort of environment — it’s one thing if my users are at another site on the WAN, I’m worried it’s going to be another thing when it’s a broadband VPN connection between me and them….
