Templates or Guides Anyone?

I’m looking for a template or guide that I can use when evaluating a client’s IT environment. When I was with one of the BIG 5, we had such tools, but they are serialized and I can no longer install and use them. Even an Excel spreadsheet could be useful, but I just don’t have the time to develop one on my own. — Thanks for any help and suggestions, Frank
