Text in MS Word 2003 wont show until I click

This is the weirdest thing. One of my co- workers is having a very weird issue. Whenever she types in MS Word 2003 it doesn’t actually show the text until she clicks and it all just appears. Same scenario for deleting and pretty much any other keyboard functions. Any thoughts?
