Text squares.

Ok. I installed Windows XP, then SP 2 on the machine Im using now. Everything has turned out good apart from the text. For example. When I open “My Computer” everything is readable, the “Control Panel” says Control Panel, etc etc… But when I insert a disk, Say “CyberLink PowerDVD 6” into my E: drive, instead of displaying the CDs name, all it shows is the Cyberlink symbol and 5 squares followed by (E:). The text being replaced by squares is also apparent in other programs. I tried looking on Google and such with no luck. Any help is appreciated.
