Thinking of new job after 5 months

I’ve been working as a network administrator at a company for the past 5 months. I have a manager with whom nobody can get along. He bullies people, throws tantrums, and in general treats everyone else as sub-human.
For instance, if you walk past him in the hall and say “Hi” he just stares straight ahead. It’s creepy, almost.

I have tried telling myself “There will always be one rotten manager at every company” but after putting up with his behavior for several months I’m willing to take my chances elsewhere since I simply can’t work with this guy any longer; he spreads too much animosity and inspires absolutely no loyalty. If you do your job well, he says nothing. If something bad happens to the network or systems, suddenly you’re the Anti-christ.

My question is, what do I tell the next company I interview with when they ask why I’m leaving? I don’t want to lie but I also don’t see how I can tell them “My last manager made Genghis Khan look like Mr. Rogers.” I’m afraid they won’t believe me and will think I’m just bailing out because the work is too tough, or perhaps think to themselves “Gee, if we give him any pressure will he just leave our company too?”

Any thoughts on this? Thanks for any assistance-
