Those blasted broken website images

Here is the deal
I have to manage a site that requires uploading images of product.

The problem is that some images work and some do not. I try to remove and re-upload them and still have trouble.
Resulting in that fameous broken picture icon.

Has anybody experinced this same phenomena—any ideas to solve this problem.
