Time allotted for keeping a pgm open

by ila . Updated 25 years, 4 months ago

I was recently working on a bank’s online database pgm for a company. I observed that after 5 mins the pgm closes by itself. Ofcourse, it gives a warning if there is no activity. Sometimes, I have to check something on the data sheet in between before inputting. I was also not able to leave my desk longer to either go leisurely to the washroom or boil water for a cup of tea to give me a break. I’ve to quicky come back and do some part of the entry to keep it active. So, I stay put sometimes, continuously making data entries for more than an hour or two. This tension within me gave me cramps and discomfort from my hip downwards especially in the lower part of the body where I sit. I spoke to the lady who gave me the work to please tell the bank to extend the period to keep open the pgm. But she laughed at me and said that the bank kept the timing that short for security reasons. I fully understand it but has the Administrator worked on the database to realize that the timing is too short for people who do data entries to leave the desk for a short while. Only the lady in the company has access to the program and I felt delicate to call her to open the pgm. Only once or twice I had to call her during the 10 days I worked on it. How could she have solved this problem for me?
