TM-T88IV crashing system

I have a customer who just installed a TM-T88IV thermal printer on her Acer pc running Win XP Pro SP2 with 512Mb RAM.

Every time the printer is turned on the system freezes and have no other option but to power off manually and restart.

Any clues from anybody? All help appreciated
