To Cert or To B.S: Which comes first?

Since I have not completed my degree in Computer Information Systems, I was wondering if I should get my certifications first or continue with my B.S.

I can certify myself without class participation saving me some money. However, the Novell, Cisco, and Microsoft Systems Engineer certs are not easy and require hands-on knowledge. I have read here that members are getting notes and other study materials, then creating the lab environment themselves. Do you need a lab for those certs?

I can pay about 5,000 at New Horizons for my MCSA cert which includes Network+. I am currently getting my A+ certification via self-study.

What are the thoughts of the Tech Republic community?
