to recruit…or not to recruit

hello everyone, I am a full time student and I’m facing a lay off from my current part time position. I am wondering I should be looking for a recruiter, as I’m having a hard time finding employers who are looking for students. Where and how do I contact these recruiter? Or should I keep my nose buried in the help wanted ads?
