Today’s Corporate PC; base standard?

What are your thoughts concerning what an enterprise should have as their BASE standard PC?
Meaning the low end user on the floor.
Also, comment on base OS and apps….
This can be an opinion of your own or your company’s standard. Please do not just quote Microsoft, we know their bare min. is not always truely real world operational.
