I along with others bought the Toshiba e740 not knowing that toshiba wouldn’t care about it’s consumers; offering little if any support at all (if you own it you know.) I’ve had to search discussions, groups, blogs, tech sites etc. to be able to cope with this decision. I want to start a discussion that will help others face issues with theirs as well. I don’t have all the answers, but we can work on it together. I bought a toshiba e740 off of ebay last year. Still in the original package.( Make sure its the e740 not e740nw wich means not wireless.) The e740 was sold when they changed to ppc3 and Toshiba fighting off petitions, and angry mobs of costumers, absolutely refused to support the product by offering any upgrades even when they upgraded other products and updated the same product in other countries other than the US. If you own one you know it is almost impossible to connect it to vista. Vista ONLY supports exploring files on the device and Internet function when connected. Vista doesn’t support Ppc2002 syncing and Vista Blocks any attempt to download any version of active sync. This means no syncing with any office or other products. You can however download program to it, but a lot of programs require active sync to function. The Toshiba e740 is now considered an older product, but is still liked and being sold. It was ahead of the game with wifi and blue tooth, and features that are just now being added to PDA’s and smart phones.
