I am charged with rounding up training materials for a group of technicians who will be performing outsourced desktop support in a very heterogeneous environment. There are Wintels and Macs, AS/400 and Unix, SQL Server and Oracle applications, ERP, graphics and engineering packages.
Finding material on desktop OS and applications is easy; I would love to find some sources, written or online, for background or beginning support guidance/troubleshooting problems with the more specialized areas. For example, “these are 3 typical problems you might see with an AS/400 terminal emulator session; ‘A’ is a configuration issue with the emulator, ‘B’ is a connectivity issue, and ‘C’ is a problem with the program itself.” Anyone come across a good source of information I could incorporate into our “arsenal”? TIA.
