Training Suggestions

I am an Application Support Analyst at a Hospital Corp. supporting clinical apps throughout the enterprise. Besides some IT college courses the only training I have had is from the vendors that we lease our applications from ? mainly McKesson Information Solutions.

Moving forward, I want to bolster my technical skills/knowledge so I may be more marketable in the future.

Question: What kind of training and/or certification I should be seeking out? I want to continue on the application support path however I want to understand the more technical aspects of the IT environments.

I am currently working on a college degree in Computer Information System.
