Troubleshooting dial up networking

Helping a friend set up a modem in an old 386 with W/95. Had to install dial up networking. Now, in trying to walk through the wizard I receive a rundll error message that I can’t get past. Have tried several uninstall/reinstalls.I believe the problem is in the wizard and would really appreciate any comments you may have. Is the fact that it is a 386 an issue?
