Trying to open a word file brings up ‘File Conversion”

by connie9658 . Updated 18 years, 4 months ago

I have a user, who after trying to open a .wks (Works file), when she tries to open 2 specific Word files, the File conversion box comes up. If you choose Windows default, it jsut puts it in in wing-dings, unreadble. She has Office XP on her machine. I looked at the viewing properties and the files are associated with Microsoft Word like they should be. There aren’t any other .doc files that this happens to. No one can open these two files. They “used” to be able to open them, but not now.

Has anyone seen this before? And if so, maybe you could shed some light on it for me.

Thank you,
Connie
