Two DSL Connection

by jhondz2001 . Updated 18 years, 2 months ago

To my Fellow IT,

I have 2 DSL connection in our office, one has dynamic IP and the other one has static IP. I have 1 switch 24 ports and two dsl modem and two telephone line. I use two different IP sequence for all my LAN users 192.168.X.X and 10.10.X.X. 10.10.X.X is for the managers and the 192.168.X.X was used by ordinary users.LAN IP of my DSL modem with static IP is 10.10.0.1 and the dynamic is 192.168.0.1. So my manager has IP of 10.10.x.x with subnet and a gateway of 10.10.0.1 and DNS of 10.10.0.1 also. My others LAN user has IP address of 192.168.X.X with subnet, gateway of 192.168.0.1 and DNS of 192.168.0.1.

manager can not see the ordinary on the network and vise versa but in windows XP you can add more IP address on LAN setting if you like in this way they can see each other on network but they use different gateway to connect to internet.

My question is: how can i use the DSL with dynamic ip as my backup internet connection in case my DSL with static IP fails, therefore i will use only i IP sequence to all of my LAN users.? What do i need?

Thanks
