Unable to “Create Adobe PDF” from command

I have a client who is having issues trying to convert a Word document into a PDF (gets error: “Unable to open the document: {path to file here} Please check to see if you have read permission for the above file.}. She can do so from within Word itself (File > Print > Adobe PDF), but cannot do so with the “Create Adobe PDF” command when you right-click on the Word document itself (before opening the document, in its folder). I tried uninstalling Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard and reinstalling and verified that she has all the proper permissions to do this, but still she gets errors with this method. What else can it possibly be?

She is running the following: Windows XP SP2, Adobe Acrobat 8.1 Standard, Microsoft Word 2003
