I have a Win2k Pro laptop which is NOT part of a domain and has all updates installed. This machine is intended to login locally and only to use the default administrator login, since it is a testing machine. The only 3rd party software which has been installed is Symantec Antivirus Small Business Pack.
After shutting down and restarting, Win2k login screen seems to take a long time while “Preparing networking connections” and “Applying computer settings.” When logging in under the administrator account, I receive the following error message: “System Cannot Log You on Because Domain
I have tried MS’s hotfix in KB article 244671.

This unfortunately has not resolved the issue. Any suggestions on a fix? Thanks in advance.
