I’m working on a Dell E310 desktop. It has 512mb ram with win xp and microsoft office 2003. I needed to install a new version of Win XP home edition because the old Win XP kept locking up no matter what application I opened. Before I reinstalled the new OS the only way I was able to copy files to my thumb drive was from safe mode. The reason being Win XP would hang up and the hour glass would never show any execution. The new OS was installed without any problem. Now when I try to reinstall the files from the thumb drive I get this message:
“The drive or network connection that the shortuct to Documents.INK refer to is unavailable. Make sure that the disk is properly inserted or the network resource is available, and then try again.”
What I don’t understand is that I didn’t just copy the shortcuts. I copied the folders and files to the thumb drive that I needed.
Does anybody have any insight what I need to do so I can transfer these files so I can use them on the newly installed OS? Thank you very much.
