Unix: initial script config

Hello,

We are planning to use only one Unix account and that account fires up an initial script which calls the main app.

What we don’t know is how to:

1) Fire up that initial script, we understand that we need to do some modifications to .profile; and

2) For the main app record, in that script wee need to retrieve the IP address in order to have unique IDs in the main app.
