Unix/Nt Password Sync

by beeeman . Updated 25 years, 1 month ago

I have an NIS Unix server and an NT Terminal server that I’m trying to establish password synchronization, but with no luck. On the Unix box, I’ve installed the daemon and the config file and fired up the daemon as root. On the NT side, password sync has been configured to communicate with the proper unix box. Also, the encryption key and port match on box the sso.conf file and the NT box. When trying to update an NT password, I get an “Error 12, cannot change password for [username]” on the Unix side. Also, when trying to update a Unix password, I get another error: “[servername]: connection refused.

I have been successful syncing NT workstations and NIS boxes on a small, 10 unit network.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
