USB ports freeze PC

I did a system recovery on my PC and now, when I plug anything into any of the USB ports, my computer freezes up. I’ve tried updating the drivers. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and the root hubs. Nothing I’ve done fixes the problem. I’ve also tried restoring to an earlier date, but that doesn’t work either. Can anyone help me?
